The future of Haiti lies in its impoverished youth. Because of the vast displacement of Haiti’s middle class, youth lack education and financial ability. Youthful ambition alone cannot overcome their poor living conditions and their suffering from malnourishment. With your support and commitment, we can raise awareness to this crisis and build opportunities for Haiti’s youth in the Bombardopolis District.
The residents in this District are determined and committed to raising up the next generation for Haiti’s betterment. In 2016, one of their churches was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew. The community came together and labored for six years to build a new church with 11 classrooms for their children’s education. Pictured is the fruit of their hard work.
The Critical Need is School Funding
Thirty-seven thousand dollars ($37,000) is needed to keep two schools open in the Bombardopolis District. This money would pay the salaries of 14 teachers, 4 cooks, 2 guardians, and 2 P/T secretaries. Plus, 255 children would receive an education with the necessary school supplies and hot meal each day.
Steps for Haiti’s Youth is a 4K (2.5 mile) walk to promote awareness about the impoverished youth in Haiti and raise money for their education. Here is how you can help.
Thank you for prayerfully considering your participation in Steps for Haiti’s Youth. Pastor Steve Exantus
